    La Ronde des Beignets: Sfenj

With the 4th candle lit last night, it was Morocco that stopped the round fritters for a traditional recipe and flavored Sfenj. Dress honey aromas and tastes subtly mingled with the orange and Orange blossom: a pure sweetness of the East!

    Sfenj of Morocco

sfenjspa012 La Ronde des Beignets: Sfenj
    (about 20 sfenj)

    • 500g flour
    • 2cc instant dry yeast
    • 3cs sugar
    • 1cc salt
    • 3 eggs means
    • 120ml orange juice
    • 3cs vegetable oil
    • 1cs of orange flower water
    • honey syrup or honey, sugar, powdered sugar

Place all ingredients at room temperature.

In a bowl, combine the sifted flour with salt, sugar and yeast. Digging a well in center and pour the lightly beaten eggs, orange juice, oil and orange flower water. Knead until dough becomes smooth and flexible: it should not be sticky (possibly add a little flour). Put in bowl, lightly oil the surface and back into the bowl. Cover and let rise 1h-1h30.
Degas of the main dish and pour over the work plan lightly flour. Cut dough into 20 pieces that we put into a ball. Make a hole in the center with your finger and then expand the hole with the index 2 by turning quickly. Place on a dish flour, cover and let rise 1 hour.
Fry in oil, not too hot without cluttering the fryer (4-5 depending on the maximum size). Back in mid-cooking. When the balls are browned on all sides, drain a few minutes on absorbent paper.
To serve, honey sfenj by dipping in honey diluted in water and put to boil or simply sprinkled with sugar or icing sugar.
A taste with mint tea, of course!
